Tecnicas Reunidas chooses BricsCAD® for design productivity at less cost

Bricsys® is pleased to announce that Técnicas Reunidas, a world leader in the design and management of the execution of industrial plant projects, chooses BricsCAD® as its preferred computer-aided design tool for engineering and construction projects.

BricsCAD®, built by Bricsys and part of Hexagon, offers design, engineering and construction firms the ability to maintain .dwg file compatibility without investing in third-party add-ons, which decreases the overall cost of CAD software ownership.

Commenting on the switch to BricsCAD, Raúl Martin Garcia, Head of the Engineering Systems Department at Técnicas Reunidas, said:

A change in licensing policy by our former CAD provider drove us to find an alternative tool. BricsCAD provides the same functionality we are used to in other .dwg-based CAD platforms together with a flexible licensing model, making it an attractive and cost-effective solution with a much lower total cost of ownership.

Raúl Martin Garcia concluded:

Many of the CAD engineers have already changed to BricsCAD with no impact to their productivity. There is an ease to BricsCAD that makes it a sensible fit for a company as large and geographically diverse as Técnicas Reunidas. Network licensing, seamless implementation, technical support in all time zones, and integration with other Hexagon solutions are hugely advantageous.

This deal with Técnicas Reunidas to use BricsCAD for complex industrial facility designs, faciliated by local Bricsys reseller DGS Proyectos, makes the company the largest BricsCAD user in Spain. BricsCAD will be used in all of the Técnicas Reunidas’ upcoming ventures, including a €900 million petrochemical complex expansion project in Poland.

Jean-François Stephan, Executive Vice President, Hexagon’s PPM division, said:

We are delighted to welcome Técnicas Reunidas, one of our largest Intergraph Smart® 3D customers, to the Bricsys-Hexagon family.

Opportunities like this confirm our commitment at Hexagon to prioritize the needs of the customer from product development through to licensing by offering solutions that facilitate an efficient and affordable design process.
