What are the minimum system and hardware requirements for BricsCAD?

The minimum system requirements for BricsCAD are:

  • Operating System: Windows 10, 11 (x64), MacOS 10.15, and later, or Linux. (Visit the help article for more details)

  • Processor: Intel or AMD processor with a clock speed of at least 1 GHz.

  • RAM: At least 8 GB of memory, 16 GB or more, is recommended for larger or more complex drawings.

  • Hard Drive: At least 3 GB of free hard drive space.

  • Display: Monitor with a minimum resolution of Full HD (1920x1080).

  • Graphics Card: Video card with DirectX 9 or higher compatibility.

  • Internet connection: A stable Internet connection and some additional features are required for activation.

It's important to note that these are the minimum requirements and may vary depending on the complexity of your drawings and the other applications you have running on your system. To ensure optimal performance, it is recommended to have a more robust design with a fast processor, more memory, and a dedicated graphics card.

How do you download an older version of BricsCAD?

Select the version you want to download in the selector underneath the download button at the top of this page.

How do I upgrade to the latest version of BricsCAD?

Log in with your Bricsys account and see your personal upgrade prices for your software keys in the “My account” area.

How do I download a free 30-day trial of BricsCAD?

When you download the BricsCAD installer for the first time, you will have the ability to start a BricsCAD trial version in the BricsCAD launcher. After 30 days, this trial will end. The launcher will ask you to insert a valid license key. You do not need to reinstall BricsCAD.

Can I buy a BricsCAD license for older versions?

You can only buy a BricsCAD license for the most recent BricsCAD version. However, this license can be used on previous versions of BricsCAD no older than V14.

How do I transfer my license to another computer?

To move a single or a volume license to another computer (license can be transferred between Mac and PC):
1. First, deactivate your license on the old computer.
2. Once the license is deactivated, you can activate it again on another computer.

All your valid licenses can be found on the Bricsys website in My Account > Licenses and Support Contracts (login required).

I get an error when trying to run the BricsCAD installer for Mac. How should I proceed?

To install and run BricsCAD on macOS 10.15, you need to explicitly select "Open Anyway". This option is available via System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General, or when using a right-click to open the application.
